I have not yet reached my goal of at least 50 submissions to judge, so I am extending the deadline to February 15th.
Teachers have also asked me to put examples of what I am looking for.
I am looking for:
Appropriate pieces.
Poetry.
An excerpt of roughly 700 words from a longer novel you have written.
Modest Proposal Essays from English classes.
A short story you wrote in Creative Writing.
A random short story you wrote.
Personal Truth essays that you would like published and that don't include the language.
Songs or Raps.
Limericks.
THINGS I DO NOT WANT:
Essays about school-related subjects, such as the death penalty or a piece read in English unless it has artistic and literary merit (meaning, its not extremely boring.)
Inappropriate pieces (Bad language, sexual depictions, etc)
That's pretty much it! Keep on submitting and help me get this project done and help yourself get published!!

Information!
Hey guys, so for my senior project I am putting together a literary competition open to ALL SHELDON STUDENTS.
Teal, Black, and WRITE! Submit your literary pieces (poems, short stories or excerpts of longer ones, etc) to tealblackwrite@gmail.com by January 30th. You may get published in this awesome Literary Magazine and have a chance to win a prize :D *If published, a small fee (less than 5 dollars) will be charged to you for printing cost for the book :]
Rules for Submission: Submit all pieces at once in SEPRATE attachments via email. On the attachment, include your ID number at the top and the pieces title, along with the piece itself. Title the attachment the title of the piece included. In the body of the email, include your first and last name, grade number, and ID number so I can identify who's piece is who for editing :D
PS. I forgot to specify. Length is not a factor but I may have to cut down your piece when editing. If you'd like to specify areas not to cut or simply give me a portion of your writing. I'm not sure exact word limits because of how much will fit on a page of the book... Your entry is allowed to spill over a few pages (2 or 3, maybe), but no guarantees!!
